The new JVC Interlink XP741 replaces the highly successful 7310. The XP741 is simply excellent: attractive black styling, extremely lightweight, very powerful, many integrated features, and proven quality. JVC has shown that they are much more than the home electronics company of yesteryear. With the release of the original Interlink a couple years ago, we took a wait-and-see approach. But Interlink model after model has proven to be reliable and innovative; now we are big fans.

As has been the case in the past, JVC goes with a glossy black finish for its new model. The XP741 is attractive inside and out. Weighing in at only 2.0 pounds, the XP741 features an Intel® Centrino™ Mobile Technology / Intel® Pentium® M 1.1GHz Dothan (the 2Mb on-chip cache) processor, 60Gb HDD, integrated 802.11b/g, firewire, 2 x USB 2.0, modem, LAN, audio, and VGA (requires dongle). The lightest configuration gives only 1.9 hours of power under optimal circumstances, but with the second battery attached, the XP741 will run for 5.5 hours.
